SASP Revive Programme

The Revive Activity programme offers individuals (18+) experiencing drug and alcohol addiction issues and or mental health challenges the chance to get active and enjoy some new physical activity experiences. Revive sessions welcome people at whatever stage of their recovery journey they may be at, and are also suitable for those who are temporarily sober or drug free. The Revive programme is fully inclusive and is open to people of all abilities and experience levels. The programme offers a variety of fun, casual and sociable activity sessions. The aim is to provide participants with the chance to reap the physical and emotional benefits of exercise, along with offering them the opportunity to socialise in new environments. Teaching and Education Conference 2022 - speaker Adrian Bethune

Award-winning author and teacher, Adrian Bethune, is running a workshop called 'Developing Swimmer Wellbeing' at the 2022 Teaching and Education Conference focusing on why wellbeing is so integral to learning and improving performance. Kate Dale This Girl Can: Changing the Conversation

Why is the health sector seeing physical activity more and more as a form of "medicine" that can prevent or even cure millions of people from developing non-communicable diseases? Which game-changing approaches and technologies have been effective in attracting and retaining hard-to-reach groups in sport and physical activity? Speakers in this track of MOVE Congress 2019 came from the health, fitness, education and sport sectors, bringing unique insights from each to show how it’s possible to connect the dots between our sectors and work together towards a healthier society. Feminist and former journalist Kate Dale is responsible for delivering This Girl Can, Sport England’s multi-award-winning campaign, which is changing the way millions of people think about exercise and physical activity, and has seen 2.8 million more women get active as a direct result. Prior to this, Kate spent 10 years as a trade magazine editor before becoming a brand and content specialist for major online banking institutions including Barclays. When time permits, she like to takes part in triathlons and learning to dance. She is a trustee for Women’s Sport Trust – a leading UK charity focused on using the power of sport to accelerate gender equality and stimulate social change.
