|Description||ConnectedCoaches Content Champion and Senior Fellow in Sports Coaching at the University of Winchester Richard Cheetham MBE talks about what makes a good coaching session. He was the 2018 UK Coaching Coach Developer of the year. Using one of his students’ gymnastics coaching sessions on how to perform a dive roll, he emphasises the importance of: • establishing the learning outcomes • creating a positive coaching environment • being creative in your sessions • making the sessions engaging, active and enjoyable • reflecting on what you have learnt. Whatever sport you coach, and whether you are new or experienced, think about how you can incorporate these techniques into your coaching.
