Important: 'Clubs For All' - Inclusion Training Programme 2023

* SASP covers the administrative County of Somerset whilst WESPORT covers the Districts of Bath and North East Somerset and North Somerset.
SASP's 'Clubs for All' training programme will support community sports clubs in its area who work with young people with additional barriers to participation. These barriers may include a disability or long-term health condition, a chaotic home life, living in care, struggling to stay in school or are experiencing changes with their gender identity or sexual orientation. The programme will support clubs to cater for these young people and help them become part of that club.
It is the hope that the 'Clubs for All' training will empower clubs to support young people whose additional needs act as a barrier to taking part. The training will focus on practical strategies to build strong, healthy relationships with fellow players and colleagues. Interactive experiences will bring attendees to an understanding of the different ways of communication and how the club environment can have a big impact on a young person's ability to engage with the session.
If you are interested in sending a representative(s) from your club for the 'Clubs for All' training, SASP would love to hear from you. Clubs will have an opportunity to attend up to 6 workshops, with each workshop being 90mins in duration. Networking opportunities are also available to help clubs discuss the training, to share best practice and to access further support. An incentive payment would be made to the club on completion of the workshops.
Clubs will have an opportunity to complete either a bronze, silver or gold package:
Bronze – attending 3 or more workshops and 1 networking event – club receives £100 payment from SASP on completion
Silver – attending 4 or more and 1 networking event – club receives £150 payment from SASP on completion
Gold – attending 5 or more workshops and 2 networking events – club receives £200 payment from SASP on completion
