Lifeguard Instructor and Rookie Lifeguard Instructor course

RLSS UK will be hosting both the Lifesaving instructor and Rookie lifeguard instructor course on 12 & 13 February 2022 in Keynsham to address the shortfall of qualified instructors within the Club structure. The 2-day course is designed to give attendees the skills and qualifications to deliver both the Rookie Lifeguard Programme and the Survive and Save Programme.

Those that attend the courses as a volunteer at a Lifesaving Club will undertake the courses free of charge and will have all course manuals (both physical and digital) included. Attendees will be expected to give a brief explanation of how they will utilise the course to assist their Lifesaving Club.

The cost for attendees from Commercial Providers will be £100 and will include all course materials (both physical and digital).

Those wishing to attend need to be a minimum of 16 years of age.

You do not need to have a current RLSS UK membership in order to complete these courses. However, if you are not currently a member, please first contact laurencekenyon@rlss.org.uk

We recommend that you do not book a hotel room until after the closing date for the course has passed, or book a refundable room, in case the course dates need to change for any reason.

Rookie Lifeguard Instructor

This is the qualification needed to deliver the RLSS UK Rookie Lifeguard Programme. Aimed at 8 -12 year olds, it is taught using colourful materials, and fun, varied lifesaving and rescue activities to give children the skills they need to be confident in the pool or the sea and enjoy water safely, whether in shallow or deeper water.

Lifesaving Instructor

This is the qualification needed to deliver the RLSS UK Survive and Save Programme. The Survive & Save Programme is our lifesaving award scheme for anyone aged 12 years and over.
