Somerset County Championships 2022 - Entry Confirmation and Information

30 Dec 2021: Correct fee amounts posted for AST and A.N.T with apology.
4 Jan 2022: View Volunteer Roster as at 3 Jan 2021 and request for Clubs to promote the remaining roles yet to be allocated.
14 Jan 2022: View News item with Volunteer Roster update and overview of roles, Health and Safety Protocols, as well as Programmes for 16 Jan Session 1 and Session 2.
21 Jan 2022: View update published 21 Jan 2022 with Health and Safety and Warm-up Protocols, Session Reports and Programmes for 22/23 Jan, latest Volunteer Roster update and overview of roles. Please can Clubs promote the remaining roles yet to be allocated.
3 Feb 2022: View update with latest Volunteer Roster and overview of roles. Health and Safety and Warm-up Protocols, Session Report and Programmes for 5/6 Feb. We are still short of many volunteers for Sunday morning 6 Feb 2022. Please check vacant roles, sign up if you have not already done so and encourage more people in your Club to offer their support.

"Thank you for entering your swimmers into the 2022 Somerset County Championships.

"I am pleased to be able to confirm that all entries have been accepted.

"The following events have 8 or less swimmers in all age groups and will therefore go straight to finals:
  • Event 24 – Girls 200m Fly
  • Event 40 – Boys 200m Fly

"All other events will run as published.

Warm up procedure and timings

"Relay swimmers and swimming order must be advised to the recorder at the before the start of the relay warm up. You will only be able to amend swimmers from those already submitted with your entries.  No new swimmers will be added.  

"I want to remind you all that only 1 relay team will qualify for points and trophies / medals. 

"Please can Club Meet contacts ask parents not to contact me directly with regards to entry times and deal with any queries within your club. Any enquiries that come to me directly will be forwarded to the relevant clubs.

"Now that all entries are confirmed there will no refunds for withdrawals.  Swimmers will be scratched if they do not wish to swim an event, but no refund will be given.

"Coach packs and passes will be available for all Coaches / Team Managers to collect from the Front of House on the first day of competition. 

"Heat sheets for all 50m, 100m, 200m Prelim rounds and 400m + finals are to be printed from the email sent prior to the weekend or downloaded from the Somerset ASA website.  All details will also be available on Meet Mobile.  

"Heat sheets for 50m, 100m & 200m Finals ONLY will be available to coaches and can be collected from the Recorders' desk during the warm up session.  It is the club’s responsibility to ensure that only DBS cleared personnel are given access to the swimmers’ balcony and are permitted to wear a pass to gain access.  

"ALL PASSES MUST BE RETURNED TO THE FRONT OF HOUSE OR RECORDERS DESK ON THE LAST DAY OF YOUR COMPETITION. There are passes missing, please ask any personnel who may have had a pass from previous events to bring them along for them to be reissued.

"No late entries, including relays will be accepted so to avoid any disappointment, don’t ask! 

Payment

"Payment should be made by BACS, however if payment by cash or cheque is the only option, these funds must be paid directly into the Somerset County A.S.A. bank account.  Cheques payable to ‘Somerset A.S.A.’

Official Printed Programme

"There will not be an official printed programme. The heat sheets will be available on Meet Mobile and downloadable from the Somerset ASA website from the Friday before each weekend, This will be as accurate as possible, Please encourage your parents to use either Meet Mobile or printed versions from the website as there will be no printed versions available on the day.

Hats & Hoodies

"I am really pleased to say that SwimPath will be selling Championship branded hats & hoodies. The hoodies will have all names of swimmers competing printed on the back, We hope you like the new design for this year.

Meet Managers for the event

"I will be supported again this year by Neil Chambers from Wells and Nicky Taylor from A.N.T.. If anyone else would like to offer their help on sessions, either to shadow to gain experience or has experience of running events, I would be very happy to hear from you. The more people we can get involved in the running and organising of your events will only strengthen the skills and knowledge in the County.
