Your County needs a Volunteer Co-ordinator

Only youWe are keen to recruit a County Volunteer Co-ordinator who will play a key role in making a difference to the work of volunteers within aquatics and act as a point of contact in Somerset for volunteers and volunteering issues.

Why do we need at least one person in the role?

Well we wanted to raise the profile of volunteering before the Covid-19 pandemic and our need now is even greater.

If you take the team out of teamwork, it's just work, and few would want that.

That's why we encourage our County Volunteer Co-ordinator to work with others such as local Active Partnerships, our County Development Officer, Technical Secretaries and Club Volunteer Co-ordinators to help support volunteer
  • recruitment
  • retention
  • rewards and recognition
  • development and training
  • communications

The County Volunteer Co-ordinator's feedback and guidance on matters affecting volunteers will benefit and assist clubs who need to recruit a new volunteer co-ordinator or develop someone further.

Please share this opportunity within your Club and networks and remember to submit your nomination(s) to Mark Wells,  County Secretary (somersetasasec@gmail.com) so we can confirm an appointment / job share at our AGM on 22 May.

PS The time commitment required will vary throughout the year but generally be much less than that of a Club Volunteer Co-ordinator and also suitable for a job share.
