Swim England launches free webinar series for outdoor swimming community
Post Publication Edit: The launch of the series was so popular that the webinars sold out in just one day! However, due to the high demand, additional places are now available on all three sessions. There are two topics on offer. The Introduction to Outdoor Swimming will run twice – please don’t book onto both sessions. The form will close when full. Sign up to the newsletter below to find out when more places will become available.
Swim England has launched a series of free webinars focused on outdoor swimming. The sessions will aim to inspire and engage those who are interested in finding out more about swimming outdoors or returning to the activity.
Some topics of discussion will be key safety advice, both the health and social benefits, where to swim and what to wear as well as much more.
In addition to being available at no cost, the webinars are also open to everyone but on a first come, first served basis.
There are currently three sessions available to book on to, the first of which takes place on Tuesday 6 April.
Gaby Hay, Head of Membership Development, said: “We are excited to host this series of webinars and we look forward to engaging with the outdoor swimming community. Our introductory sessions will help those who want to get involved in the activity but are maybe unsure where to start, and they will include a lot of key safety information and top tips. The question and answer sessions will provide a great opportunity to speak with some experts in this area to hear their stories and share their knowledge.”
To support the information in this series, Swim England recently launched an outdoor pool venue finder to work alongside the existing open water venue finder.
The series is led by the National Governing Body and supported by the Outdoor Swimmer Magazine.
