FFN Golden Tour, Camille Muffat, Nice: Day 2

A group of Swim England Phase 3 Talent swimmers are competing in Nice over 8 to 10 February.

Females

Plymouth Leander's Honey Osrin (02:15.37) claimed bronze in the 200m Backstroke A Final won by Katalin Burrian (Hungary, 02:09.92), who finished 10th in the event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. There was another third place finish for a Brit in the B Final, as Millfield's Rachel Anderson clocked 02:21.01. Ceara Barber (02:23.58) came sixth.

Charlotte Rigg (02: 30.48) finished fifth in the 200m Breaststroke A Final. Team mate Kayla Van Der Merwe (02:33.83) raced to a 3.04s margin of victory in the B Final 

Jemima Hall came second in the 200m Freestyle B Final won by Lea Polonsky (Israel, 02:02.90) finishing 1.05s ahead of veteran Evelyn Verraszto (Hungary). Three Brits made the Junior Final which was won by Beril Bocekler (Turkey, 02:04.25). Maisie Elliott and Honey Osrin (02:06.38) tied for third place. Millfield's Rachel Anderson (02:06.65) improved 0.5s on her prelim time, finishing just 0.27s behind for fifth place. Millfield team mate Jess Podger clocked 02:06.48 in the prelims. 4x200m Freestyle Relay bronze medallist clocking 1:57.78 in London 2012, Charlotte Bonnet was the competitor twice going sub 2 mins winning A Final gold in 01:57.86 ahead of Marie Wattel (02:00.45) in second.

Sophie Yendell (28.56) qualified for the 50m Butterfly B Final finishing seventh. Maisie Elliott (28.77) came third in the Juniors 14-17 Yr Final. Rio Olympian Marie Wattel (00:26.43) took the A Final gold.

Glasgow 2018 European Champion Fantine Lesaffre (France, 04:40.36) enjoyed an 8.17s margin over nearest competitor Cyrielle Duhamel in the 400m IM A Final.

Anna Egorova (Russia, 16:23.52) won the Women's 1500m A Final Males

Millfield's Will Mitchell went 1.19s faster than his prelims to finish second (02:25.96) in the 200m Breaststroke Junior Final which was won by Monaco's Marcus Sainton in 02:20.55. Sweden's Erik Persson (02:12.76) won the A Final.

Jacob Davies (00:27.35) won the 50m Backstroke Junior 15-18 Yr Final by 0.04s and Olympic veteran Jérémy Stravius (00:25.23) won A Final gold. 

Youngest competitor in the 200m Butterfly B Final, Edward Mildred (02:03.17) improved 0.63s on his heat swim to finish second, 0.55s behind Denis Loktev (Israel). Sam Dailley left seven French Juniors more than 2.7s in his wake to claim Junior gold in 02:04.21. Bence Biczo (Hungary, 01:58.29) won the A Final, finishing 1.62s clear of Nils Liess (Sweden).

Robbie Jones clocked 02:09.73 in the prelims and then 02:10.32 for seventh place in the 200m IM B Final. Jacob Davies (02:10.72) surged 1.79s ahead of Hubert Palmie for his second Junior win of the day. Swiss Olympian and Glasgow 2018 European Champion in the event, Jeremy Desplanches (Olympic Nice Natation, 01:58.61) finished 3.55s clear of David Verraszto (Hungary) to win 200m IM A Final gold.

Adam Metcalfe (00:52.15) finished third and 0.08s off silver in the 100m Free Junior Final won by European Junior Champion Tomer Frankel (Israel, 00:50.80). Edward Mildred (00:52.64) and Sam Dailley (00:53.26) finished in fifth and eighth place. Maxime Grousset (France, 00:49.3) beat Stravius by 0.37s for A Final gold.
