Celebrating our Young Volunteer Stars - Joseph McLachlan

Joseph McLachlan

Norton Radstock Swimming Club were delighted to see the volunteer contribution of Joseph McLachlan recognised by the local swimming community at Somerset ASA's Annual General Meting on 26 May 2018..

BalloonsHaving taken his Aquatic Helper Course in 2017, Joe assists the Club's coach and teachers. He helps teach the younger swimmers, explaining things to them in their language. And not only is he now a qualified Timekeeper and qualifying for Judge One, Joseph has signed up for a Level 1 Coach course and a lifeguard course this summer.

Without volunteers like Joe many Clubs would not survive, events be curtailed, and not just Club ones. Joseph will be one of the valued volunteers helping to coach swimmers at the South West School of Swimming Development Camp at Bryanston in August 2018.

As well as regularly helping out at junior galas and meets on poolside where he supports and reassures younger swimmers, Joseph is an active offical at the Club's junior galas at Millfield. He always willingly comes forward to offer help. Indeed he had volunteered to help out at the medal desk at this year's Somerset Championships but was advised by his doctor to rest after an illness.

We hope you will join us in saying a massive thank you Joseph for all you are doing. It really is much appreciated.
