Luxembourg Euro Meet 2018 Day 2 - Gold for Guy

GB swimmers picked up ten medals on Day 2 of the three day Luxembourg Euro Swim Meet – with an impressive haul of four gold, two silver and four bronze medals.

James Guy (1:47.97 GB, Bath NC) picked up his first gold of 2018 in the 200m freestyle with team mate Stephen Milne (1:49.44) 0.17s off a podium place in fourth.

Guy then picked up a bronze (1:59.52) behind Laszlo Cseh (1:58.07) and Ramon Kelnz (1:58.58) in the 200m Butterfly.

Adam Peaty (26.94 GB) won gold in a new meet record for the 50m breaststroke which saw David Murphy (28.72 GB) finish in fifth place.

Ben Proud (23.03 GB) beat main rival Andriy Govorov to the 50m Butterfly gold by 0.17s. Proud (21.89) added his second gold of the session, beating his own meet record in the 50m Freestyle final which saw Thomas Fannon (22.92 GB) finish in eighth place.

Georgia Davies (1:00.66 Energy Standard) was over 0.3s faster in each leg of the 100m Backstroke final than Sarah Sjoestroem (1:01.02) who had to settle for silver.

Chris Walker-Hebborn (55.23 GB, Bath NC) picked up a silver in the 100m Backstroke final won by Kliment Kolesnikov (54.31 Energy Standard). Elliot Clogg (58.27 Loughborough NC) finished in ninth. 

Ross Murdoch (2:12.52 GB) also added silver in the 200m breaststroke won by Marco Koch (2:09.49) with David Murphy (2:19.75 GB) finishing in ninth place. 

Charlotte Atkinson (27.24 GB) claimed the 50m Butterfly bronze medal with Imogen Clark (27.29 Loughborough NC) 0.05s back in fourth. Atkinson added another bronze in her 200m Butterfly event (2:11.52) with Laura Stephens (2:12.73 Plymouth Leander) fourth and Hannah Miley (GB 2:14.04) in fifth. 

Jocelyn Ulyett (2:26.57 GB) earned bronze in the 200m breaststroke with Hannah Miley (2:30.73) finishing outside the medal places in fifth.

Imogen Clark (31.51 Loughborough NC) claimed bronze in the 50m Breaststroke ahead of Sarah Vasey (31.62 GB) in fourth.

Hannah Miley (2:01.72) also finished fourth in the 200m freestyle.

Lucy Hope (25.96 Edinburgh University) finished fifth in 50m Freestyle in the penultimate race of the evening.
