Thank you for the music Betty!

After nearly 30 years of playing the music for Taunton Deane Synchro (formerly Taunton Swimming Club) Betty Lovell has decided to retire.

A regular volunteer on the pool side, taking the register, dealing with numerous behind the scenes jobs, collecting money and looking after the administration for this section of the club, Betty is going to be greatly missed.

In 2007 Betty was awarded an ASA South West Region Volunteer Award for all her work both at club and County levels.  The presentation features in our photos scrolled on the home page of this site.

The club presented her with a dolphin statue, a garden voucher, a certificate and an M&S voucher at the end of her last session on Friday 12th December at St.James Pool, Taunton.  Former synchro swimmers and teachers, Terry (past Club Chair) and Heather (former Club Secretary) Beale, Keith Northcott (Club Treasurer) and Ann Reynolds who founded the synchro section of the club, were there, together with the current parents and synchronised swimmers who gave a display of their current routines all with the Christmas theme in Betty's honour.
