LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships - Copenhagen 2017 Day 5
13-17 December 2017 - Copenhagen
Duncan Scott brought the LEN SC Swimming Championships in Copenhagen to a close with a bronze in the Men’s 100m Freestyle.
Scott clinched the third place medal in 46.64 after a tight four laps of the Royal Arena pool behind Pieter Timmers (Belgium, 46.54) who claimed silver and gold went to Luca Dotto (Italy, 46.11).
Jocelyn Ulyett went in the Women’s 200m Breaststroke final and finished in 2:21.07 to rank sixth overall.
Kathryn Greenslade (4:06.05) delivered another strong swim in the final of the Women’s 400m freestyle, finishing sixth and demonstrating good form on her first senior international debut.
Head Coach for the event Tim Jones said: “We achieved what we set out to do. Everybody went with their own objectives – for some, it was to win medals, some it was to make finals and some people it was to develop their arena skills. The swimmers coped really well with the arena. It wasn’t like swimming meets in this country, it was entertainment and showbiz.
“We had a really small team and it was hard to build momentum with so few people, but every swimmer was getting PB times. It was really impressive that we had a team of eight who came away swimming great times – especially when it was the first senior international meet for some of them.”
