Swim England (SE) are looking for a chairperson to join their board.

Swim England is the national governing body for swimming, synchronised swimming, open water swimming, water polo and diving. The organisation was founded in 1869 and its headquarters are on the Loughborough SportPark.

SE help people learn how to swim; enjoy the water safely; and compete in all our sports. SE's vision is of a nation swimming and SE strive to inspire everyone to enjoy the water in the way that suits them. SE works with partners to create engaging programmes that enable everyone to be active, have fun and stay healthy through swimming.

Each month, millions of people are able to enjoy swimming, diving, water polo and synchronised swimming because they have been through SE's renowned Learn to Swim Programme. Ensuring people are safe in the water is of paramount importance to SE and so SE work closely with partners to keep water safety high on the national agenda.

Swim England is a membership organisation dedicated to supporting its clubs and members to develop and succeed. SE maintain the laws of the sport and run world-class national events that are open to all. SE also operate a comprehensive range of qualification and education programmes for teachers, coaches, officials and tutors.

As part of the drive to continuously improve corporate governance, SE have agreed to incorporate the organisation and establish a new Board structure of 12 directors - including an independent non-executive chairperson and 3 further independent non-executive directors.

The role of the Swim England chair is to provide inclusive and inspirational leadership and guidance throughout the organisation. This is an exciting and vital opportunity to help develop and shape the future growth of the organisation.

Swim England non-executive director roles are for up to 2 terms of 4 years and require attendance at between 6 and 8 meetings with up to 6 additional days of support. The role is voluntary with expenses reimbursed according to prescribed Swim England policies.
