Giving feedback is a major role of the mentor. This video shows how mentors can provide feedback on a mentee's performance. The mentor uses questioning to assist the mentee to self-reflect and plan to improve their performance. Disagreement that may arise between a mentor and mentee is shown, as well as effective resolution. The mentor assists the mentee to establish an action plan at the end of the discussion.
Mentoring in action
Mentors often attend training sessions to observe and provide advice to the mentee. In this video, the mentor helps identify areas the mentee would like feedback on during the training session. The mentor observes and analyses the performance of the mentee and provides unobtrusive and timely feedback. Recognition of the mentor is also highlighted.
