Please print bring with you to the meeting A reminder for those of you who have been on our committee for awhile and information for those new to the committee, these are the main purposes of each of our meetings throughout the year:

September: Financial planning and application for funding for the year ahead from 1 April. To approve arrangements and promoters conditions for the swimming championships. Note for Technical Secretaries: Please let Ray have budget applications for your discipline / area of responsibility in a timely manner prior to the meeting.

November: General Meeting of Clubs. Annual budget and development funding to be approved by the membership in addition to the Development Plan for the year ahead from 1 April. Results of the survey of the membership regarding the General Meeting will be discussed at our September 2017 meeting, but we don’t envisage the purpose will change this year.

January: Approve arrangements and promoters conditions for synchro, masters, open water and water polo championships

April: Approve and recommend awards and officers for the following year from May and to the Region for July. Approve arrangements and promoters conditions for our swimming Development Meet.

May: Annual General Meeting

Annual Regional Council Meeting 2017

Sunday 10 September 2017 - Holiday Inn, Taunton TA1 2UA.

There is an open forum with the Regional Development Committee prior to the Council Meeting from 12 to 1.30pm.  This is an opportunity for clubs to come along and raise awareness to the committee of any issues they have with regional activity i.e. licensing, officials training, regional competitions, regional website, regional funding. As a sub section of the region, the club development committee will then be able to incorporate actions to tackle these issues over the coming year.

Lunch for this will be provided separately to the ACM. Please advertise this within your clubs and anyone wishing to attend should email chris.vickery@swimming.org

The ACM itself starts at 2pm. If any members of the Management Committee will just be attending the ACM, but would like to join everyone for lunch beforehand, then the County as always will be happy to pay for your lunch. If you would like to book for the lunch (but not if you will attend the Forum above, which includes lunch) then please email Ray (raywarren101@virginmedia.com - new email address) and copy in Fiona Bowen (fiona@bowenfamily.me.uk) by 31 August 2017 at the latest so that we can make the booking.

As agreed at our AGM, Ray Warren and Fiona Bowen will represent Somerset ASA as voting delegates.

We hope we get some better weather for you all to enjoy and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on 9 September. If you are unable to attend, please let Fiona Bowen have your apologies beforehand and any reports or comments to be raised in your absence.
