Day Three - 2009 Swimming Championships
A packed crowd at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre at Weston Super Mare witnessed some fantastic swimming on Day Three of the 2009 County Championships, which have rasied the bar in terms of achievement for competitors through the introduction of qualifying times for entry to the competition.
None more so than in the final of the Ladies 100m Butterfly Championships when Libby Mitchell (Taunton Deane Swimming) lowered a five year record by almost two seconds! Having shaved three hundreths off the record in the heats, Libby lowered her previous time to 1:01.57 in the final.

In the boys freestyle relay Yeovil took the silver medal from Taunton Deane Swimming whilst in the boys medley Weston Super Mare struck silver edging Yeovil into third spot. On the girls side Weston Super Mare took the bronze in the medley whilst Chard took the final place on the podium in the freestyle.
