University of Bath Talent Development Centre

The objective of the Team Bath Talent Development Centre is to maximize the potential of people from the South West to progress to elite levels in sport by providing support to and building the capacity of National Governing Bodies to implement their talent pathways in the South West.

The Talent Development Centre is looking for athletes between the ages of 11-18 years old who take part in a range of sports or who have a chosen sport and are competing from regional/county to international level.

What can athletes gain at the Talent Development Centre?

  • Improve agility
  • Develop endurance
  • Maximize jumping ability
  • Decrease susceptibility to injury
  • Boost confidence

All the above can be gained through the following types of training:
  • Resistance training
  • Speed and change of direction training
  • Endurance training
  • Supervised rehab

Monday taster & screening sessions

These sessions currently take place every first Monday of the month (excluding bank & school holidays) from 7.30pm.

The taster sessions enable the athlete to get a feel of what the Talent Development Centre deliver, the benefits to them as an athlete and whether they would like to join the programme.

It also provide the Talent Development Centre with an opportunity to screen the athletes, taking their growth and maturation data and to look at their movement ability ensuring the Talent Development Centre that they follow the correct programme.
