Luxembourg Euro Meet 2018 Day 1

Hannah Miley and Aimee Willmott bagged Great Britain’s first medals of the Luxembourg Euro Meet. 

Miley (4:39.28 GB) pipped team mate Willmott (4:41.69 GB) to the 400m Medley gold in the first long course meet for British Swimmers in 2018.


Jazz Carlin (8:46.92, Swim Wales) also picked up a bronze in the 800m freestyle.


Bath National Centre's James Guy unleashed a 1:59.06 swim to qualify fastest for 200m Butterfly A Final. Also safely through to their respective Butterfly A Finals are Charlotte Atkinson (3rd 2:11.57 GB), Hannah Miley (4th 2:13.99 GB) and Laura Stephens (5th 2:14.69 Plymouth Leander) in the  200m event and Ben Proud (2nd 23.52 GB), Imogen Clark (3rd, 27.30 Loughborough NC), Charlotte Atkinson (5th, 27.53 GB) and Laura Stephens (6th 27.58 Plymouth Leander) over 50m.

Progressing through to their 100m Backstroke A Finals are Chris Walker-Hebborn (2nd 55.88 GB [Bath NC]) and Elliot Clogg (10th 58.63,  Loughborough NC) and Georgia Davies (1st 1:01.41, Energy Standard) and Kathleen Dawson (9th 1:02.77 GB).

Day two of the competition will see Adam Peaty open his defence of his 50m breaststroke title against team mate David Murphy and Stephen Milne, James Guy and Duncan Scott will compete in the 200m Freestyle preliminaries.
