Disney-May strikes silver as Somerset swimmers take on Europe

Millfield and Team Bath swimmers at the LEN European Junior Championships in Helsinki

Millfield's James Disney-May swum the lead relay leg of his life in the final of the Boys 4x100m Freestyle at the LEN European Junior Championships held in Helsinki, Finland on 15 July recording a personal best time of 51.02 seconds as a member of the Great Britain team that finished second to France but out swam Croatia who came third in this event.  

Disney-May went on to lower his PB time yet again in the semi-finals of the individual Boys 100m Freestyle recording 50.91 on his way to the final held 16 July when he finished 10th.  He is yet to compete in the 50m Freestyle later in the Championships.

Team Bath Youth & Age Group SS's Siobhan-Marie O'Connor also recorded a stellar time (1:02.22) in the Girls 100m Butterfly semi-finals to qualify for tomorrow's final in eigth place.  Siobhan also swims in the 200m Individual Medley.
